Mechatronic serves as a multidisciplinary engineering system design methodology.

This approach requires the synergistic integration of mechanics, electronics, control theory and computer science within product design and manufacturing in order to improve and/or optimize its functionality.

Engineering Drawing

The educational objective of the “Engineering Drawing” course is the presentation of specific applications and the use of real workpieces and standard parts. The intention is to teach technical communication skills and to develop the real-world drawing tasks from a wider technological environment.

Cutaway models

Engineering animations such as cutaway models are ideally suited to representing processes and functions. GUNT uses up-to-date original parts for its cutaway models. Movement and switching functions are maintained.

Dimensional metrology

The dimensional metrology practice kits are designed for practical training in the metalworking trades. They include various items of test equipment and test objects.

Fasteners and machine parts

Components of a technical application that fulfil certain functions in structures are known as machine elements. Machine elements can be both single components and assemblies.
Simple machine elements such as screws, cylinder pins, feather keys or seals are defined according to standards and therefore can be exchanged without difficulty. More complex machine elements such as bearings, couplings, gears or shafts are standardised in only certain important properties, such as main dimensions or flanges, and as such are not fully interchangeable.

Assembly projects

This chapter deals with the process of familiarisation with component and their functions, reading and understanding engineering drawings or operating instructions, and familiarisation with technical terminology and language. The assembly exercises can be conducted in relatively short periods of time (within lesson units) and do not as yet require any particular technical experience.

Maintenance

Typical maintenance methods and testing procedures are offered as learning content. Some of the exercises take a lot of time to complete and amount to substantial project work. Demands are made on technical skills.

Machinery diagnosis

The teaching systems familiarise trainees with the specific methods of monitoring plant / machinery condition, such as the early detection of bearing or gear damage.
We work primarily with vibration analysis methods which constitute diagnostic steps for preventive maintenance or targeted repair.

Automation and process control engineering

With the aid of automation and process control engineering, processes are monitored and influenced as they happen. This is enabled by the measurement and control of variables such as flow rate, pressure, temperature, and concentration.
